Overview
With the release of Modular Assessments, we now have the ability to report how well a candidate performed at a competency level in their interview.
The Candidate Insights Report is available to all Modular Assessment candidates if enabled for that account and team. It is not available to Custom Assessment candidates.
The Candidate Insights Report is not sent to hiring managers, and they won’t have access to this specific report. The one sent to candidates is a summarization and development tips version of the manager report generated from the assessment.
The report is dynamic, meaning the various sections of the report are visible (or not) based on what competencies are being assessed. Each report has up to three sections to showcase the different elements of the candidate's performance/evaluation.
Accessing the Report
Candidates will receive the standard completion email—usually within minutes of completing their interview.
Once their interview has completed processing and their scores are calculated, they will receive a second email with a hyperlink inviting them to view their Candidate Insights Report. This link is the only way to access the report.
Understanding the Report
Progress Bar
This section shows the candidate where they are in the interview process. When they receive their report, they are on the final "insights available" step. The bar is for reference only and is not navigable.
Competency Group Navigation
This section allows candidates to navigate between the three types of competencies measured. Depending on the Modular Assessment, and especially in the case of a Game-Based Assessment with no video questions, all sections may not be available.
Candidate Feedback Section
For most Modular Assessments, there will be three sections of feedback, each describing different types of competencies that were measured. For interviews that only utilize a Game-Based Assessment, "Working with Information" will be the only section available to view.
Feedback under "Working with People" will be derived from one or more of the following competencies:
- Communication
- Negotiation & Persuasion
- Team Orientation
- Relationship Building
- Developing Others
- Service Orientation
Feedback under "Working Style and Personality" will be derived from one or more of the following competencies:
- Personal Stability
- Conscientiousness & Responsibility
- Drive for Results & Initiative
- Adaptability
- Compassion
Finally, feedback under "Working with Information" will be derived from one or more of the following competencies. Note that cognition has sub-competencies that are shown in the report as top-level scores:
- Applied Critical Thinking
- Willingness to Learn
- Cognition
- Problem Solving
- Memory
- Attention
- Agility
- Visuospatial
- Numeracy
- Safety and Compliance Orientation
Feedback to the candidate for the applicable competency will be based on their score in that competency. In the Candidate Report for Managers, these scores are on a scale from one to five, Novice to Expert. Candidates who receive a score of one or two (or Novice/Developing respectively) will get one set of feedback. Candidates who score in the three to five range (or Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert) will get a different set of feedback. Each set of feedback also contains developmental tips.
“How did we measure your assessment?” Section
This section appears on each page of the report to let the candidate know how they were measured and the steps HireVue takes to avoid bias.
Point of Contact
This section contains the point of contact details supplied by the customer for the candidate to use if they have questions or concerns about their interview. (This point of contact information does not lead back to HireVue.)
GBA Only Feedback Reports
For most Modular Assessments, there will be three sections of feedback, each describing different types of competencies that were measured. For interviews that are only utilizing a Game-Based Assessment, only the "Working with Information" section will be available.
Feedback under "Working with Information" will be derived from one or more of the following competencies. Note that cognition has sub-competencies that are shown in the report as top-level scores.
- Applied Critical Thinking
- Willingness to Learn
- Cognition
- Problem Solving
- Memory
- Attention
- Agility
- Visuospatial
- Numeracy
Feedback to the candidate for the applicable competency under Working with Information will be based on their score or sub-score in that competency. They are shown on the Candidate Insights Report to add substance to the report and give more insight to the candidate.
