In HireVue, click New Position on your Home page. Alternatively, click Positions at the top of the page, then New Position.
Type in the position title and add a public title if applicable.
To the right of the title is the Due Date. Click No Due Date to access the calendar and choose a due date. If you don’t want to assign a due date ignore this option.
Please note: The due date will have the interview expire at midnight according to the time zone assigned to your profile.
Under Interview Type select On Demand in the drop down menu. If Audio-Only is listed as an option, check the box next to it if you do not want the video portion recorded.
Add any applicable information in the custom fields listed and then click Advanced Options.
Under Point of Contact you can Add a Point of Contact or review the point of contact assigned.
Under Candidate Visibility choose who can view candidates on this position.
Under Scoring mode the scoring for evaluation ratings is listed as: Per Candidate or Per Question. If a drop down menu is listed below you can pick the scoring mode. If not the scoring mode has already been set for your team.
Please note: There may be varying options in the advanced options depending on the setup of your company’s HireVue account.
Candidate Experience
To the right is the estimated interview length. Click the pencil icon to set a specific time. Otherwise it will generate a time based off the questions you add. In the welcome page of the candidate’s interview, this estimated length of time will be listed.
Use intro video and closing video to add an introduction and closing video for the candidate’s interview here. Click Add a Video.
In the new window, you can select a video from the Video Library, Upload a Video, or Record a Video.
- Video Library: Contains recorded videos used previously. You can choose an existing a video or delete a video in the library. Please be careful when deleting video as they can’t be recovered.
- Upload a Video: Upload a video with the allowed file extensions, which are listed for your convenience.
- Record a Video: Use a computer with a webcam and microphone to record a video.
In Branded Theme pick the applicable theme. Depending on your account settings you may have a designate theme already assigned. Click Preview to preview any email templates from HireVue and candidate interview pages.
If an Advanced section is listed choose the number of times the candidate has to re-record a video response.
Questions
Use Load from Template to use an existing question template for this position.
Tip: If the position is similar enough to a different position, you can load a template and remove any questions that don’t apply.
In the top right section of Questions click on the gear icon to change the section’s settings.
In the drop down you can choose from the following options:
- Set a section time limit: Set a time limit for the candidate’s answers in that section.
- Force a question response: Force the candidate to provide a response to the question before continuing to the next question. If unchecked the candidate can skip the question.
- Restrict question navigation: Restrict the candidate’s navigation in the interview. If unchecked the candidate can complete questions in that section in the order that they choose.
- Include special instructions: Include special instructions for each section of the interview questions.
- Enable question forms: Use this to create multiple variations of the same interview section. Ensure each form has the same number of questions.
Click Add a Question and choose from the following options:
- New Question: Create a video, essay, multiple choice, multiple selection, ranking, or screen sharing question.
- From Question Bank: Use a question from the question bank.
- From Previous Position: Use questions from a previous position.
- New CodeVue Question: Create a new CodeVue question.
To add another section click Add a section at the bottom of the page.
To save the position, click Save.
Please note: If you do not want to save the position you can leave the page and it will remain in a draft form. Do not click Cancel as it will delete the position and there is no way to recover it.
