This article outlines the process and features for Live 3.0.
Starting the Interview
In the interview invitation email, click ‘Start the Interview’ to join the interview. To test participant settings prior to the interview, click ‘Test your system before interviewing’ and follow the prompts to test the microphone, speakers, and internet connection.
Tip: If possible, test your system 15 to 20 minutes before the interview is scheduled to start.
The welcome screen will list the participant’s name, the candidate’s name, the position title, scheduled date and time for the interview, and the estimated interview length.
Click Begin Setup to begin the interview.
Follow the prompts to verify your microphone, speaker, and camera inputs.
When the system check is complete, click Join Interview.
Participants will see a screen with a notification stating ‘Waiting for the Candidate to join.’ As the candidate goes through their pre-interview system check, participants can view their progress.
Please note: The chat feature in the bottom left corner is available as soon as the candidate enters the interview lobby. Participants and candidates can use this to communicate with each other in the event a candidate is having difficulty entering the interview.
When the candidate has followed all of the pre-interview prompts successfully, participants can start the interview.
Participating in the Interview
When the interview has begun, participants will see a list of icons at the top of the candidate’s video.
Clicking on the screen sharing icon will give participants the option to share their own screen or ask the candidate to share theirs.
Please note: If the candidate is on a mobile device, they cannot share their screen and this option will not be available.
The microphone icon will mute the participant’s microphone.
The camera icon will turn off the participant’s camera.
The settings icon will allow the participant to change their microphone, speaker, or camera input.
On the right side of the screen, participants will see the Interview scorecard.
The Schedule tab lists the interview date and time, as well as the attendees.
The Notes tab is where participants can view any notes they enter. Notes can be entered in the text box below the interview scorecard.
Please note: Candidates and other interviewers cannot see the notes entered in the notes tab by the participant.
The Questions tab lists the questions that were added to the interview during set up. Participants will also rate candidates on each question in this tab.
At the bottom of the Interview Scorecard, participants will choose a recommendation for the candidate in the My Recommendation section.
Ending the Interview
When the interview is complete, participants can end the interview. There are two options presented when clicking the ‘End Interview’ button:
Leave interview – Choose this option when the participant needs to leave the interview, but other participants and the candidate will continue the interview.
End interview for everyone – Choose this option the end the interview for the candidate.
Please note: If a participant leaves the interview, they are still able to rejoin as long as another participant has not ended the interview for everyone. If the participant needs to rejoin, they can do so by following the link in the interview invitation.
When the interview has been ended for everyone, the candidate is no longer in the interview session and the recording has stopped. Any remaining participants will be notified of this action.
Participants can continue to discuss the interview with each other, input final notes, and make their recommendations.
When participants have finished the interview wrap up, they can exit by closing the browser window.
