If the camera/webcam is failing the equipment test or if you cannot see yourself, close any other programs that may be using your camera such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc. Additionally, ensure you are in a room with good lighting.
Follow these steps to check your camera/webcam privacy settings:
1. Press and hold the Windows logo key + I on your keyboard at the same time to open the Settings menu. You can also open this menu by opening the Start Menu, then clicking Settings.
2. In the search box that opens, type "Camera" and select Camera privacy settings.
3. Ensure that the settings "Allow apps to access your camera" and "Allow desktop apps to access your camera" are set to On.
4. Return to the interview.
If you are having an issue while using Lenovo, your Lenovo Camera Privacy Mode might be disabling the feed to the camera. To disable it, follow the steps below:
1. Search for Lenovo Vantage in the start menu
2. Navigate to My Device Settings then Display & Camera to adjust the camera based on preferences. If the program is windowed, you'll need to click the icon in the top right corner, and then select Display & Camera. If the program is maximized, hover over Device to access the option for Display & Camera.
3. Scroll down to the Camera section.
4. Set the camera privacy mode to Off to ensure that the privacy settings are no longer blocking access to the camera
If the above steps do not resolve your issue, we recommend switching to another internet browser like Google Chrome or Firefox. You can also use a different device for the interview.
