Interview Questions Setup
In the top right section of Questions, click on the gear icon to change the section’s settings.
In the drop-down, you can choose from the following options:
- Set a section time limit: Set a time limit for the candidate’s answers in that section.
- Force a question response: Force the candidate to provide a response to the question before continuing to the next question. If unchecked the candidate can skip the question.
- Restrict question navigation: Restrict the candidate’s navigation in the interview. If unchecked the candidate can complete questions in that section in the order that they choose.
- Include special instructions: Include special instructions for each section of the interview questions.
- Enable question forms: Use this to create multiple variations of the same interview section. Ensure each form has the same number of questions.
Click Add a Question and choose from the following options:
- New Question: Create a video, essay, multiple choice, multiple selection, ranking, or screen sharing question.
- From Question Bank: Use a question from the question bank.
- From Previous Position: Use questions from a previous position.
- New CodeVue Question: Create a new CodeVue question.
Question Types
Under Candidate Response, choose a response type.
Video
Video will require the candidate to provide their answer in a video recording. Type the question text. You can add a recording for the candidate to respond to or a file.
Please note: The maximum video file size is 2GB. The maximum document file size is 10MB.
Essay
Essay will require an essay response from the candidate. This option includes a character limit, default text option, and response time.
Tip: Check default text if you want to provide an example response for the candidate.
Multiple Choice
Multiple Choice will require a multiple choice response from the candidate. Type in each response option. Check the box next to Define Correct Answer to show the correct answer when evaluating the candidate. You can also choose a response time.
Tip: Use this question type for yes or no type questions.
Please note: Users evaluating the interview will not be able to rate or comment questions that have Define Correct Answer checked.
Multiple Selection
Multiple Selection will require a multiple selection response from the candidate. Type in each response option and choose a response time.
Tip: Use this question type for availability type questions.
Please note: Users evaluating the interview will not be able to rate or comment on multiple selection questions that have question scoring enabled.
Ranking
Ranking will require candidates to rank answers according to best, worst, etc. Type in the answer options, the ranking options, and choose a response time.
Please note: Users evaluating the interview will not be able to rate or comment on ranking questions that have question scoring enabled.
Screen Sharing
Screen Sharing will require candidates to share their screen when answering the question. The prep time for this question type is unlimited, however a response time limit can be set.
Question Sections
To create question sections, click Add a Section.
Tip: Use different sections for questions that assess different skills.

Use Load from Template to use an existing question template for this position.
