When should I use position templates?
Position templating solves inconsistencies in the position setup. Read below for a few use-case examples:
Assessment Models
If assessment models are added to questions, position templates can increase their accuracy. When positions are set up with inconsistencies, it can provide incorrect assessment model results. With position templates, you can safely create interviews with the right assessment model and interview questions.
Common Positions & Seasonal Campus Recruiting
If you are creating a large number of common positions or doing seasonal campus recruiting, position templating helps you create a template to quickly replicate positions.
Company Branding: Intro & Closing Videos
With position templating, you can choose the intro and closing video for the template. Use position templates to solve inconsistencies with intro and closing videos and create a consistent branded candidate experience.
Automated Actions
With position templating, you can configure automated actions on a template. Use position templates to ensure automated actions are set up correctly and save recruiter time.
Please note: With automated actions, the action 'copy candidate to position' will not work with position templating.
Who can create a position using a template?
Templates are assigned at the team level. Users with a team member limited and above role can create positions using a template. Anyone who can create a position on a team can use a position template created for their team.
When you create a position using a template, is it editable?
Yes. However, if the position template creator turns on restrict position editing, the position will not be able to be edited except for the titles, custom fields, and integration fields (i.e. Requisition ID). For position templates that use assessment models, this setting is automatically turned on to ensure consistency for the accuracy of the results. Restrict position editing allows you to have more control over the positions that are created.
What can be edited when creating a position from a restricted template?
The only editable fields are the titles, custom fields, and integration fields (i.e. Requisition ID).
What happens when I edit a position template?
When you edit a position template, any new positions created with that position template going forward will reflect those changes. Positions created with that position template prior to the edit will not be updated.
